“Petrichor” - one of my favourite words; it means the smell of rain on the parched ground after a long period of dry weather. This piece is my response to that moment, as for me it creates an almost tangible feeling of melancholy, reflection and hope, and for me this is what art is about. Capturing moments, experiences and building something that makes people stop and think. As I am an artist with synaesthesia, some of the tones, textures and movement of the piece are inspired by Keaton Hensons song of the same name, and are applied following my experience of the piece.
